Apple-Raspberry Crisps

Ingredients:

  • 6 medium-sized Granny Smith apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup butter, chilled and cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F/190°C.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together chopped apples, raspberries, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Transfer mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, rolled oats, and brown sugar. Cut in butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
  4. Sprinkle crumb mixture over the fruit in the baking dish.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving.

Serving suggestions:

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top for an extra special treat.
