Caramel-chocolate tartlets – Delicious

Caramel-Chocolate Tartlets Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pre-made pie crust, thawed
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt
  • 5 ounces of bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/4 cup of heavy cream for the chocolate ganache

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Roll out pie crust and use a cookie cutter or biscuit cutter to cut out circles and press into a muffin tin. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and let cool.
  3. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the sugar and water over medium-high heat, stirring constantly until dissolved and the mixture turns amber in color, approximately 6 to 8 minutes.
  4. Once the sugar mixture reaches the desired color, add the heavy cream. Be careful as it may splatter.
  5. Stir in the butter and sea salt and remove from the heat. Allow the caramel to cool slightly then spoon it into the cooled pie crusts.
  6. Melt the chocolate using a double boiler or microwave. Once melted, stir in the heavy cream until fully combined.
  7. Drizzle the chocolate ganache over the caramel-filled tartlets and let cool. Once set, serve and enjoy!

Verdict:

These caramel-chocolate tartlets are the perfect combination of sweet and salty, and the best part is that they are bite-sized. They are smooth, rich, and utterly delicious – a real treat for any dessert lover.
