Caramel-Chocolate Tartlets Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 pre-made pie crust, thawed
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream
- 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, cut into pieces
- 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt
- 5 ounces of bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 1/4 cup of heavy cream for the chocolate ganache
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Roll out pie crust and use a cookie cutter or biscuit cutter to cut out circles and press into a muffin tin. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and let cool.
- In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the sugar and water over medium-high heat, stirring constantly until dissolved and the mixture turns amber in color, approximately 6 to 8 minutes.
- Once the sugar mixture reaches the desired color, add the heavy cream. Be careful as it may splatter.
- Stir in the butter and sea salt and remove from the heat. Allow the caramel to cool slightly then spoon it into the cooled pie crusts.
- Melt the chocolate using a double boiler or microwave. Once melted, stir in the heavy cream until fully combined.
- Drizzle the chocolate ganache over the caramel-filled tartlets and let cool. Once set, serve and enjoy!
Verdict:
These caramel-chocolate tartlets are the perfect combination of sweet and salty, and the best part is that they are bite-sized. They are smooth, rich, and utterly delicious – a real treat for any dessert lover.
