Chocolate and Pear Tart Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
- 2 ripe firm pears, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 8 ounces semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Arrange the sliced pears in a circular pattern in the unbaked pie crust.
- In a small saucepan, combine the heavy cream and whole milk. Heat over medium heat until scalded, but do not boil.
- Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate. Stir until smooth and melted. Allow to cool for 5 minutes.
- In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the beaten eggs, granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, and salt.
- Gradually whisk in the chocolate mixture until well combined.
- Pour the mixture over the pears in the pie crust.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the center is set and the tart is golden brown.
- Allow to cool completely before serving.
