Crystallized rose petals – Delight

Crystallized Rose Petals – Delight Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh rose petals (make sure they are unsprayed and free from any chemicals)
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water

Directions:

  1. Wash the rose petals gently in cold running water and pat them dry with a clean towel. Once dry, keep them aside.
  2. In a small bowl, beat the egg white until it becomes frothy.
  3. Using a pair of kitchen scissors, cut off the white tip of each petal (the part where the petals were attached to the flower). This will make sure that the petals do not curl as they dry.
  4. Dip each petal in the frothy egg white and coat it well on both sides.
  5. Place the sugar in a separate bowl. Take each egg-coated petal and sprinkle sugar over it, making sure to coat both sides completely. Gently shake off any excess sugar.
  6. Place the sugar-coated petals on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let them dry for 24 hours.
  7. Once the petals are dry, store them in an airtight container until ready to use.

Verdict:

Crystallized rose petals are a wonderful treat that can be used to add beauty and flavor to a variety of dishes. They are crunchy, sweet, and have a delicate rose flavor, making them the perfect addition to desserts like cakes, cupcakes, and even ice creams.
