Paprika Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups tomato puree
- 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
Instructions:
- In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the tomato puree, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine, and then bring the sauce to a simmer.
- Cover the saucepan and let the sauce simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool slightly. Using an immersion blender or a regular blender, puree the sauce until smooth.
- Pour the sauce back into the saucepan and stir in the heavy cream. Return the saucepan to the heat and let the sauce simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the sauce cool slightly before serving.
Verdict:
This paprika sauce is a delicious addition to any meal. The smoked paprika adds a rich, smoky flavor to the sauce that pairs perfectly with grilled meats or roasted vegetables. The addition of heavy cream gives the sauce a silky texture and a subtle creaminess that balances out the bold flavors of the paprika and oregano.
