Roasted ham on the bone

Roasted Ham on the Bone Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 bone-in ham (10-12 pounds)
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  2. Score the skin on the ham in a diamond pattern.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground cloves, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place the ham in a roasting pan with the fat side up. Brush the brown sugar mixture all over the ham, making sure to get the mixture into the scored skin.
  5. Cover the ham with foil and bake for 3-4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F. Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes of roasting to allow the skin to crisp up.
  6. Take the ham out of the oven and allow it to rest for 15-20 minutes before carving and serving.

Verdict:

This roasted ham on the bone recipe is the perfect centerpiece for any holiday feast or special occasion. The sweet and savory glaze creates a delicious crust on the outside of the ham, while keeping the meat deliciously juicy and tender on the inside.
