Roasted Ham on the Bone Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 bone-in ham (10-12 pounds)
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon ground cloves
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 325°F.
- Score the skin on the ham in a diamond pattern.
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, ground cloves, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Place the ham in a roasting pan with the fat side up. Brush the brown sugar mixture all over the ham, making sure to get the mixture into the scored skin.
- Cover the ham with foil and bake for 3-4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F. Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes of roasting to allow the skin to crisp up.
- Take the ham out of the oven and allow it to rest for 15-20 minutes before carving and serving.
Verdict:
This roasted ham on the bone recipe is the perfect centerpiece for any holiday feast or special occasion. The sweet and savory glaze creates a delicious crust on the outside of the ham, while keeping the meat deliciously juicy and tender on the inside.
