Apple and Almond Tart Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of pre-made puff pastry, thawed
  • 3 medium-sized apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup of almond meal
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract
  • 2 tablespoons of apricot jam, for glaze

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and prick the bottom with a fork. Transfer the pastry sheet to a greased and lined tart pan.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the almond meal, sugar, butter, egg, cinnamon, and almond extract. Mix well until a smooth paste forms.

  5. Arrange the sliced apples over the almond mixture in a circular fashion, slightly overlapping each other.
  6. Bake the tart in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  7. Remove the tart from the oven and gently brush the surface with apricot jam to give it a shiny glaze.
