Apple and Camembert Pie
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of shortcrust pastry
- 4 medium-sized apples
- 200g camembert cheese, sliced
- 50g butter
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 200°C.
- Peel, core and slice the apples into thin pieces.
- In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar. Add the sliced apples to the saucepan and cook on medium heat for about 5-7 minutes until they have softened.
- Add the ground cinnamon to the apple mixture and stir well.
- Roll out the shortcrust pastry and place it over a 23cm pie dish.
- Spread the apple mixture evenly on top of the pie crust.
- Layer the sliced camembert cheese over the apple mixture.
- Bake the pie in the oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
- Remove from the oven and let the pie cool for a few minutes before serving.
Serving Suggestions:
Serve this delicious pie warm with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Perfect for serving as a dessert after a hearty meal!
