Ingredients

  • 1 kg of apples, washed and chopped into small pieces
  • 1 liter of water
  • 500 grams of sugar
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Place the chopped apples into a pan with the water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 30-40 minutes or until the apples become soft and mushy.
  2. Pour the mixture into a fine strainer, pressing the apples to extract as much juice as possible.
  3. Measure the juice and pour it back into the pan. For every 500 ml of juice, add 500 grams of sugar and the juice of one lemon.
  4. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for around 20-30 minutes or until the jelly reaches the desired texture. Spoon off any foam that forms on the top.
  5. Pour the jelly into sterilized jars and seal. Let them cool down and store them in a cool and dry place.
