Apple Purses Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 medium-sized apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 package puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together apples, brown sugar, raisins, walnuts, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into 4 squares.
  4. Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each square. Pull the corners of the pastry up over the apple mixture and pinch the edges together, forming a purse shape.
  5. Place the apple purses on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Brush each purse with beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
