Apple Purses Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 medium-sized apples, peeled and chopped
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 package puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix together apples, brown sugar, raisins, walnuts, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into 4 squares.
- Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each square. Pull the corners of the pastry up over the apple mixture and pinch the edges together, forming a purse shape.
- Place the apple purses on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush each purse with beaten egg.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
