Banana Turnovers Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 package of puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F / 200°C.
  2. Peel and mash the bananas in a bowl.
  3. Add lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped walnuts to the bowl and mix well.
  4. Unroll the thawed puff pastry sheet and cut into 4 equal squares.
  5. Place a spoonful of the banana mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  6. Brush beaten egg around the edges of each pastry square.
  7. Fold each pastry square in half diagonally, forming triangles. Use a fork to crimp the edges and seal the turnover.
  8. Transfer all turnovers to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Brush the top of each turnover with beaten egg.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Cool the turnovers for a few minutes before serving.
