Beef Sautéed with Peppers and Sesame Seeds

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced thinly
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced thinly
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon white wine
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds, toasted
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Method:

  1. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch, soy sauce, oyster sauce, white wine, and sesame oil. Set aside.
  2. In a large skillet or wok over high heat, add vegetable oil and sauté the beef until browned. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add more oil if needed and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  4. Add bell peppers and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes or until tender-crisp.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet with the peppers, then pour in the sauce mixture. Stir-fry until the sauce has thickened and evenly coats the beef and peppers.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve hot and garnish with toasted sesame seeds.
