Beef stroganoff

Beef Stroganoff Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 lb egg noodles, cooked

Instructions:

  1. Season the beef with salt and pepper. In a large pan, melt 2 tbsp of butter over medium-high heat. Cook the beef until browned on all sides. Remove beef from pan and set aside.
  2. Lower the heat to medium and add the remaining butter to the pan. Add onion and cook for about 2-3 minutes, until it softens. Add garlic and mushrooms and cook for another 3-4 minutes, until mushrooms are browned.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir to combine. Gradually add beef broth and stir constantly to avoid lumps. Bring to a boil and allow it to thicken.
  4. Lower heat and add the beef back to the pan. Allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes until the beef is heated through.
  5. Remove pan from heat and stir in the sour cream. Adjust seasoning to taste.
  6. Serve the beef stroganoff over cooked egg noodles.
