Beef Stroganoff Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp flour
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 lb egg noodles, cooked
Instructions:
- Season the beef with salt and pepper. In a large pan, melt 2 tbsp of butter over medium-high heat. Cook the beef until browned on all sides. Remove beef from pan and set aside.
- Lower the heat to medium and add the remaining butter to the pan. Add onion and cook for about 2-3 minutes, until it softens. Add garlic and mushrooms and cook for another 3-4 minutes, until mushrooms are browned.
- Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir to combine. Gradually add beef broth and stir constantly to avoid lumps. Bring to a boil and allow it to thicken.
- Lower heat and add the beef back to the pan. Allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes until the beef is heated through.
- Remove pan from heat and stir in the sour cream. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Serve the beef stroganoff over cooked egg noodles.
