Brioche Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 10g salt
  • 50g granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 200g unsalted butter, softened
  • 100ml whole milk
  • 7g active yeast

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, mix warm milk and active yeast together. Allow it to rest for 5 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add flour, salt, sugar, and eggs. Mix on low speed until all ingredients are combined.
  3. Add the yeast mixture while still mixing on low speed.
  4. Increase the speed to medium and add the softened butter in 3 parts, allowing each part to incorporate before adding the next.
  5. Continue mixing for 10-15 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  6. Cover the mixing bowl with plastic wrap and allow the dough to rest for 1-2 hours in a warm place until it has doubled in size.
  7. Once risen, punch down the dough and turn it out onto a floured surface.
  8. Knead for a few minutes and then shape into desired size.
  9. Grease a loaf tin with butter and place the dough inside.
  10. Cover the tin with plastic wrap and allow the dough to rest for another 1-2 hours, until it has doubled in size again.
  11. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  12. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely before slicing and serving.
