Ingredients:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring gently until sugar dissolves.
  2. Once dissolved, stop stirring and allow the mixture to come to a boil. Boil the sugar mixture for approximately 10 minutes or until it turns to a deep amber color.
  3. Remove from heat and slowly pour in the heavy cream while whisking constantly. The mixture will bubble vigorously, so be careful.
  4. After all the cream has been added, whisk in the butter and salt until fully combined.
  5. Let the caramel sauce cool for a few minutes before using it. The mixture will thicken as it cools.
