Caramel vanilla cream

Caramel Vanilla Cream Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream and whole milk. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is hot but not boiling.
  2. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let the mixture cool to room temperature.
  3. In a separate saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves.
  4. Continue cooking the sugar mixture, without stirring, until it reaches a medium amber color.
  5. Remove the sugar mixture from the heat and carefully pour it into the cream mixture. The mixture will bubble up, so be careful as you pour.
  6. Whisk the cream mixture and caramel together until smooth and well combined.
  7. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator until cold, at least 2 hours.
  8. Once chilled, pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer’s instructions until thick and creamy.
  9. Transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container and freeze until firm, at least 4 hours.
