Casserole Osso Bucco Recipe

Ingredients

  • 8 Veal Osso Bucco pieces
  • 1 cup of tomato puree
  • 2 cups of beef stock
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery sticks, diced
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh rosemary
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Season the osso bucco with salt and pepper.
  3. In a Dutch oven or casserole, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  4. Add the osso bucco and cook until browned on both sides. Remove from the pot and set aside.
  5. Add the onion, garlic, celery, and carrot to the pot and cook until they are soft and fragrant.
  6. Return the osso bucco pieces to the pot along with the tomato puree, beef stock, thyme, and rosemary. Stir everything together.
  7. Cover the pot with a lid and transfer to the oven. Bake for 2-3 hours until the meat is tender. Stir occasionally.
