Chinese Fondue Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice wine or dry sherry
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Assorted meat and vegetables (such as sliced beef, shrimp, mushrooms, bok choy, broccoli, and carrots)

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot or fondue pot, combine the chicken broth, beef broth, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice wine or sherry, ginger paste, and garlic. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat.
  2. Arrange the meat and vegetables in separate bowls, along with toothpicks or skewers for cooking.
  3. Set up a portable gas burner or hotplate in the center of the table and place the pot of broth on top. Adjust the heat to maintain a simmer.
  4. Using the toothpicks or skewers, dip the meat and vegetables into the simmering broth and cook until tender, about 1-2 minutes for thinly sliced meats and blanched vegetables.
  5. Enjoy the cooked meats and vegetables with dipping sauces such as soy sauce, hoisin sauce, or chili garlic sauce.

Verdict:

Chinese fondue is a fun and interactive way to enjoy dinner with family and friends. The flavorful broth pairs perfectly with the tender meats and crisp vegetables, creating a delicious and healthy meal.

Serving Suggestions:
