Chococaramel tart

Chococaramel Tart Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch tart pan with removable bottom.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add cold cubed butter and use a pastry cutter, or your hands, to mix until the mixture resembles coarse sand.
  3. Press the mixture into the prepared tart pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the crust is lightly golden. Let it cool down.
  4. In a small saucepan, melt the chocolate chips and heavy cream over low heat, stirring until smooth. Pour the mixture over the cooled crust and let it set in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  5. In another small saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and salt over medium heat. Stir until smooth. Let it boil for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool for 5 minutes.
  6. Pour the caramel mixture over the set chocolate layer. Return the tart to the fridge and chill for another 30 minutes or until the caramel has set.
  7. Take the tart out of the fridge, let it sit for a few minutes as to make it easier to remove from the pan. Cut into slices and serve.
