Chocolate and Pumpkin Tart Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 3/4 cups of unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/3 cup of cold water
  • 1 cup of pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon of ground cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon of ground allspice
  • Whipped cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the cubed butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Add the cold water one tablespoon at a time, stirring between each addition, until the dough comes together and is slightly sticky. Form the dough into a ball, flatten into disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out chilled dough on a lightly floured surface and fit it into a 9-inch tart pan. Trim excess dough and prick bottom with a fork.
