Cinnamon Bun Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons rapid-rise yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ cup milk
- ¼ cup water
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt together.
- In a saucepan, heat the milk, water, and butter together until the butter is melted.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, along with the egg. Mix until the dough comes together.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes. Place in a greased bowl and let rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle shape.
- Brush the melted butter over the dough. Then spread the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture over the butter.
- Roll up the dough tightly, starting from the long end.
- Cut the rolled dough into 12 even pieces.
- Place them into a greased baking dish and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let them cool slightly in the pan before serving.
Serving Suggestions
These cinnamon buns are delicious served warm or at room temperature. Drizzle with cream cheese frosting or serve with a dollop of whipped cream. Serve them as a breakfast treat or as an afternoon snack.
