Cinnamon Bun Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons rapid-rise yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt together.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the milk, water, and butter together until the butter is melted.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, along with the egg. Mix until the dough comes together.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes. Place in a greased bowl and let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle shape.
  7. Brush the melted butter over the dough. Then spread the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture over the butter.
  8. Roll up the dough tightly, starting from the long end.
  9. Cut the rolled dough into 12 even pieces.
  10. Place them into a greased baking dish and let rise for 30 minutes.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Let them cool slightly in the pan before serving.

Serving Suggestions

These cinnamon buns are delicious served warm or at room temperature. Drizzle with cream cheese frosting or serve with a dollop of whipped cream. Serve them as a breakfast treat or as an afternoon snack.
