Coffee Tiramisu
Ingredients:
- 6 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
- 1/4 cup coffee liqueur
- 1 pound mascarpone cheese
- 36 ladyfingers
- Cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the egg yolks and sugar together until pale and thick. Add in the milk and beat on low speed until combined.
- Next, in a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until it forms stiff peaks. Fold the whipped cream into the yolk mixture.
- In another mixing bowl, whisk together the brewed coffee and coffee liqueur.
- Add in the mascarpone cheese to the cream mixture and whisk until it is smooth and combined.
- Dip the ladyfingers into the coffee mixture one at a time and line them in a 9×13 inch dish.
- Spread half of the cream mixture over the ladyfingers in the dish.
- Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and then the remaining cream mixture.
- Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder before serving.
Serving Suggestions:
Serve cold with a cup of coffee or espresso for a delicious treat after dinner. This is also a great dessert to make ahead for parties and gatherings.
