Coffee Tiramisu


Coffee Tiramisu

Ingredients:

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1/4 cup coffee liqueur
  • 1 pound mascarpone cheese
  • 36 ladyfingers
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the egg yolks and sugar together until pale and thick. Add in the milk and beat on low speed until combined.
  2. Next, in a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until it forms stiff peaks. Fold the whipped cream into the yolk mixture.
  3. In another mixing bowl, whisk together the brewed coffee and coffee liqueur.
  4. Add in the mascarpone cheese to the cream mixture and whisk until it is smooth and combined.
  5. Dip the ladyfingers into the coffee mixture one at a time and line them in a 9×13 inch dish.
  6. Spread half of the cream mixture over the ladyfingers in the dish.
  7. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and then the remaining cream mixture.
  8. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  9. Dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder before serving.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve cold with a cup of coffee or espresso for a delicious treat after dinner. This is also a great dessert to make ahead for parties and gatherings.
