Cream of Lentils with Smoked Breast Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of lentils
  • 4 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 onion, chopped finely
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Smoked Turkey breast slices (as much as you want)

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add onion and garlic, cook until it’s golden brown.
  3. Add cumin, coriander, and smoked paprika, stir for a minute then add lentils and chicken broth.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, stir to combine all ingredients.
  5. Bring the mixture to boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 45 minutes or until the lentils are tender.
  6. Once the lentils are tender, turn off the heat and let it cool for 5 minutes.
  7. Take a blender and blend the soup until it’s smooth.
  8. Return the blended soup to the pot over low heat.
  9. Pour in the heavy cream and stir well.
  10. Simmer the soup for a few minutes until it’s heated through.
  11. Toast the smoked turkey breast slices in a pan.
  12. Arrange the toasted smoked turkey breast slices on top of the cream of lentils soup.
  13. Serve and enjoy!
