Crispy Camembert Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 wheel of camembert cheese
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Directions
- Cut the camembert cheese into 8 equal slices.
- Put the flour in a small bowl, beaten egg in another bowl and mix the breadcrumbs with salt and pepper in a third bowl.
- Coat each slice of cheese with flour, then dip into the beaten egg, and then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Place the coated cheese slices on a plate and refrigerate for 15 minutes to let breadcrumbs dry and stick to cheese evenly.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Once the oil is hot, place 4 slices of cheese at a time into the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Flip the cheese slices and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until both sides are evenly golden.
- Remove the cooked slices from the skillet and place on a paper towel to absorb some of the excess oil.
- Repeat with the remaining 4 slices of cheese.
