Duck Breast Tartiflette Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 duck breasts
  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 200 g bacon, diced
  • 200 g Reblochon cheese, sliced
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Peel and thinly slice the potatoes.
  3. In a large frying pan over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from pan and set aside.
  4. Add the onions and garlic to the frying pan and sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Remove from pan and set aside.
  5. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in the pan and add the sliced potatoes. Sauté until golden brown, about 10 minutes. Add the thyme, salt, and pepper.
  6. Place a layer of potatoes in an oven-safe dish. Add a layer of onions and garlic, followed by a layer of crispy bacon.
  7. Score the duck breasts in a criss-cross pattern, season with salt and pepper.
  8. In a separate pan, sear the duck breasts, skin side down, until golden brown, about 3 minutes.
  9. Place the duck breasts on top of the bacon layer in the oven-safe dish.
  10. Add the remaining potatoes, onions, and bacon to the dish.
  11. Top with sliced Reblochon cheese and 2 tablespoons of butter.
  12. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  13. Serve hot and enjoy!
