Easy Marble Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9-inch (23cm) baking tin with butter or cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the eggs, one at a time, and mix well after each addition.
- Add in the vanilla extract and mix well.
- Gradually mix in the flour mixture, alternating with the milk, until the batter is smooth and well combined.
- Divide the batter in half into two separate bowls.
- Add the cocoa powder to one of the bowls and mix well.
- Spoon the vanilla batter and cocoa batter alternately into the prepared tin.
- Drag a knife through the batter to create a marble effect.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool the cake in the tin for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
