Endive and Potato Tartiflette Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp (30g) butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large endives, sliced into thin rounds
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 1 cup (100g) grated Gruyere cheese
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Fill a pot with water, add 1 tsp (5g) of salt and the sliced potatoes. Boil for about 10 minutes, or until the potatoes are just tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat, then add garlic and endives. Cook and stir for about 8 minutes, or until the endives have softened and browned. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Grease a baking dish with butter. Layer the potatoes and endives in the dish, starting and ending with potatoes. Pour the heavy cream over the top of the mixture and sprinkle with grated Gruyere cheese.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the top is golden brown.
  6. Let the tartiflette cool for a few minutes before serving. Cut into slices and serve hot.
