  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F/180°C.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt until well combined.
  3. Add eggs one by one to the mixture, whisking well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the melted butter and vanilla extract. Gradually pour the milk into the mixture, stirring constantly until you have a smooth batter.
  5. If using, add Armagnac or brandy to the batter and mix well.
  6. Place the chopped prunes into the bottom of a greased 9-inch baking dish, spreading them evenly.
  7. Pour the batter over the prunes, making sure it is evenly distributed.
  8. Bake the Far Breton in the oven for about 40 – 50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before slicing and serving.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar just before serving.
