Filo Pastry Snails with Spinach and Feta Recipe
Ingredients
- 8 sheets filo pastry
- 200g fresh spinach, washed and chopped
- 200g feta cheese, crumbled
- 50g butter, melted
- 1 egg, beaten
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Place the spinach in a large bowl and add the crumbled feta cheese. Stir to combine.
- Lay out one sheet of filo pastry and brush with melted butter.
- Place another sheet of filo pastry on top and brush with melted butter again.
- Cut the pastry sheets into strips, about 6cm wide.
- Spoon the spinach and feta mixture onto each strip, leaving a border at the top.
- Carefully roll each strip into a snail shape, starting from the bottom and rolling up to the top.
- Brush the beaten egg over the snails, and place on the baking tray.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the filo pastry is golden brown and crispy.
