Flan with Carambar Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 10 Carambar candies, unwrapped and chopped
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine the chopped Carambar candies and water over medium heat. Cook until the candies are fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth, stirring constantly.
  3. Spray a 9-inch pie dish with cooking spray. Pour the Carambar mixture into the bottom of the dish.
  4. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  5. Pour the milk mixture over the Carambar mixture in the prepared pie dish.
  6. Place the pie dish in a larger baking dish. Fill the larger dish with enough hot water to come halfway up the sides of the pie dish.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the flan is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
