Graubünden Meat Rolls with Cream Cheese and Juniper Berries

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of thin beef
  • 150g of cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of juniper berries
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C.
  2. Pound the beef slices with a meat mallet to thin and even them out. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Crush the juniper berries in a mortar and pestle. Add garlic and crush until they form a paste.
  4. Spread the cream cheese on each beef slice, leaving about 1cm border on the edges.
  5. Top the cream cheese with a spoonful of the juniper and garlic paste.
  6. Roll the beef slices up tightly, tucking in the edges as you go.
  7. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large frying pan over high heat. Add the beef rolls and brown them on all sides.
  8. Transfer the rolls to a baking dish and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the meat rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
