Hotpot Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 pound thinly sliced beef or lamb
- 1 block of firm tofu, cubed
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup sliced napa cabbage
- 1 cup sliced carrots
- 1 cup sliced daikon radish
- 1 cup sliced scallions
- 1 cup sliced water chestnuts
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- 1 cup sliced lotus root
- 1 package of hotpot soup base
- 6-8 cups of water
- Soy sauce, sesame oil and chili paste for dipping sauce
Instructions:
- In a large pot, combine the hotpot soup base and water. Bring it to a simmer.
- Arrange the sliced beef or lamb, tofu, mushrooms, napa cabbage, carrots, daikon radish, scallions, water chestnuts, bean sprouts, and lotus root on a large platter.
- Transfer the pot of simmering soup to a hotpot or slow cooker pot on the dining table and turn the heat up to high.
- Each diner uses chopsticks to add raw ingredients into the boiling soup and cook until tender. Once cooked, remove from the hotpot and dip in the dipping sauce of soy sauce, sesame oil and chili paste.
