Leek and Bacon Quiche Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 ready-made pie crust
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 2 medium leeks, trimmed and sliced thinly
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated gruyere cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bake the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish according to package instruction. Set aside to cool.
  3. In a frying pan, cook the bacon for 5-6 minutes or until crispy. Remove the bacon from the pan and set aside.
  4. Using the same frying pan, cook the sliced leeks using the bacon fat until they are softened and slightly browned, for about 8-10 minutes. Remove the leeks from the pan and set aside.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with the heavy cream, salt, and pepper.
  6. Spread the cooked bacon and leeks evenly over the bottom of the pie crust.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the bacon and leeks.
  8. Sprinkle grated gruyere cheese over the top of the quiche.
  9. Bake the quiche in a preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the custard is set and the top is golden brown.
  10. Remove the quiche from the oven and allow it to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
