Leek Tart Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 4 leeks, white and light green parts only, sliced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and place it in a tart pan with a removable bottom.
- Trim the excess dough and prick the bottom with a fork. Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and olive oil. Add the leeks and garlic and cook until softened, stirring occasionally, for about 7 minutes. Remove from heat.
- In a bowl, whisk the eggs, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
- Add the leek mixture to the egg mixture and whisk to combine. Pour the mixture into the pre-baked tart shell.
- Bake the tart for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
- Lift the tart out of the pan by gently pushing up from the bottom. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
