Leek tart

Leek Tart Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 leeks, white and light green parts only, sliced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and place it in a tart pan with a removable bottom.
  3. Trim the excess dough and prick the bottom with a fork. Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and set aside.
  4. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and olive oil. Add the leeks and garlic and cook until softened, stirring occasionally, for about 7 minutes. Remove from heat.
  5. In a bowl, whisk the eggs, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
  6. Add the leek mixture to the egg mixture and whisk to combine. Pour the mixture into the pre-baked tart shell.
  7. Bake the tart for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Lift the tart out of the pan by gently pushing up from the bottom. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Verdict:

This leek tart is a delicious and elegant dish that is perfect for any occasion. The combination of leeks and Parmesan cheese creates a flavorful and creamy filling that is complemented by the buttery, flaky crust. You can serve it as a main dish with a side salad or as an appetizer for a party.

Enjoy!
