Mango Clafoutis Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 ripe mango, peeled and diced
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Butter a 9-inch pie dish with unsalted butter. Sprinkle some flour and tap out excess.
- Place the diced mango at the bottom of the dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, and vanilla extract.
- Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and whisk until combined.
- Pour the batter over the mango in the pie dish.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool for 10 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Serving Suggestions
Serve the mango clafoutis warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on top. Alternatively, you can let it cool to room temperature and enjoy it as a tea-time snack. The sweetness of the mango is a perfect complement to the creamy texture of the clafoutis.
