Mango Clafoutis Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe mango, peeled and diced
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Butter a 9-inch pie dish with unsalted butter. Sprinkle some flour and tap out excess.
  3. Place the diced mango at the bottom of the dish.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, and vanilla extract.
  6. Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and whisk until combined.
  7. Pour the batter over the mango in the pie dish.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool for 10 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the mango clafoutis warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on top. Alternatively, you can let it cool to room temperature and enjoy it as a tea-time snack. The sweetness of the mango is a perfect complement to the creamy texture of the clafoutis.
