Mironton Beef Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 kg of beef
- 5 potatoes
- 2 onions
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 2 tablespoons of flour
- 2 glasses of red wine
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of thyme
- 1 bay leaf
- Salt and pepper
Instructions:
- Cut the beef into large cubes and season them with salt, pepper, and thyme.
- Heat up olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides.
- Remove the beef and set it aside.
- Peel and cut the potatoes into slices. Slice the onions and mince the garlic.
- Add the onions and garlic to the Dutch oven and cook until the onions are translucent.
- Add the flour and stir constantly for a minute.
- Add red wine and mix well. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat for 3 minutes or until the alcohol evaporates.
- Add the bay leaf, potatoes, and beef. Mix well.
- Cover with water, enough to cover all the ingredients.
- Reduce heat to low, cover with a lid, and let cook for around 2 hours or until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened.
- Remove the bay leaf and serve hot.
