Mocha Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan with butter or cooking spray.
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and brewed coffee.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture in three parts, alternating with the buttermilk until all ingredients are combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely in the pan before frosting with your favorite mocha frosting.
