Pasta, Chicken, and Cheddar Gratin

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound pasta (penne or similar)
  • 3 cups cooked and shredded chicken
  • 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Cook the garlic and dried thyme until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  4. Add the cooked chicken to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes until lightly browned. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it comes to a simmer. Remove from heat and stir in the grated cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.

  11. Bake the gratin for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
