Plumb Crumble


Plum Crumble Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 8-10 ripe plums, pitted and sliced
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed and chilled

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Add the chilled butter cubes and use a pastry blender or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Set aside.
  4. In a 9-inch baking dish, arrange the sliced plums in an even layer.
  5. Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the plums, making sure to cover them completely.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve the warm plum crumble with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top for a delicious dessert. This recipe can also be made with other stone fruit, such as peaches or nectarines.
