Pork Cheeks Simmered with Honey Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kg pork cheeks
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup oyster sauce
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 bay leaves

Directions:

  1. Season pork cheeks with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Sear pork cheeks for about 2 minutes per side or until browned. Remove from pot and set aside.
  3. In the same pot, sauté onion and garlic until softened.
  4. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, balsamic vinegar, honey, water, and bay leaves. Stir well.
  5. Add pork cheeks and bring to a boil.
  6. Lower heat and let simmer for about 2 hours or until pork is tender and the sauce has thickened.
  7. Remove bay leaves and serve.
