Provencal prawns

Provencal Prawns

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound large raw prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Lemon wedges, for serving
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic, thyme, oregano, and red pepper flakes and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  2. Increase the heat to high and add the prawns. Cook until they just turn pink, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Pour in the white wine and bring to a simmer. Cook until the wine has reduced by half, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the butter and stir until melted and the sauce has thickened slightly, about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Transfer the prawns and sauce to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon wedges.

Verdict:

Provencal prawns are a classic French dish that is packed with flavor. The combination of garlic, herbs, and white wine creates a delicious sauce that is perfect for dipping crusty bread into. The prawns themselves are tender and juicy, making this dish an absolute win in terms of both taste and texture.
