Quick Gratin Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs of potatoes, peeled and sliced into thin rounds
  • 2 cups of heavy cream
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup of grated gruyere cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of butter

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Butter a baking dish (8×8 inches or similar dimensions).
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream and garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Add half of the grated cheese and mix well.
  4. Arrange half of the sliced potatoes in the buttered baking dish.
  5. Pour half of the cream mixture over the layer of potatoes.
  6. Repeat steps 4-5 with the remaining potatoes and cream mixture.
  7. Top the potatoes with the remaining grated cheese and dot with little pieces of butter.
  8. Bake the gratin for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve this delicious quick gratin as a side dish to roasted or grilled meats, or enjoy it by itself as a comforting and indulgent meal. Pair with a glass of white wine to elevate the dining experience.
