Rissoles with Jam Recipe

Ingredients

  • 500g minced beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup jam (any flavor you prefer)
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the minced beef, onion, garlic, mixed herbs, Worcestershire sauce, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is well combined.
  2. Using wet hands, shape the mixture into small balls the size of a golf ball. Make a hole in the center of each ball and stuff it with a teaspoon of jam. Seal the hole with more beef mixture, using your hands to smooth the surface.
  3. Heat some vegetable oil in a large shallow pan over medium heat. Fry the rissoles for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Remove from the pan and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  5. Serve warm with your favorite side dishes.
