Sarthoise Hotpot Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
- 1 lb. beef or pork sausage, sliced
- 2 cups sliced carrots
- 2 cups sliced celery
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp. dried thyme
- 1 tsp. dried rosemary
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup dry white wine
- 3 cups thinly sliced potatoes
- 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a large Dutch oven, brown the chicken and sausage over medium-high heat. Remove from pot and set aside.
- Add the carrots, celery, onion, and garlic to the pot and sauté until vegetables are tender.
- Add the bay leaf, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper to the pot and stir to combine.
- Add the chicken broth and white wine to the pot and bring to a boil.
- Layer the sliced potatoes over the vegetable mixture.
- Return the browned chicken and sausage to the pot and sprinkle the grated Gruyere cheese on top.
- Cover the pot and bake in the oven for 1 hour or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving suggestions:
Serve the Sarthoise hotpot with a side of crusty bread and a green salad for a complete and satisfying meal.
