Scallop Gratin Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds scallops, rinsed and patted dry
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the onion and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  5. Gradually whisk in the milk and cream, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil and thickens, about 5 minutes.
