Shallot Chutney
Ingredients:
- 10 shallots, sliced
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp tamarind paste
- 2 tbsp sugar
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.
- When the mustard seeds start to splutter, add cumin seeds and turmeric powder. Quickly stir and add sliced shallots.
- Add salt and stir well. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes on low flame. Stir occasionally.
- Add tamarind paste and sugar and mix well. Cover and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from heat, let it cool and store it in an airtight container.
