Ingredients

  • 2 lbs potatoes
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into chunks.
  2. In a large pot, cover the potatoes with water and season with salt. Bring to a boil and cook until tender.
  3. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  4. Mash the potatoes using a hand masher or a ricer.
  5. Add the milk, heavy cream, and butter to the potatoes and mix well.
  6. Stir in the grated Gruyere cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Transfer the mash to a baking dish and bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
