Strawberry and Apple Crumble Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups apples, peeled and chopped
  • 2 cups strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 5 tbsp cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the chopped apples, halved strawberries, sugar, and cinnamon together.
  3. Pour the fruit mixture into a 9-inch square baking dish
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt together until well combined
  5. Add in the cold butter pieces and use a fork to blend in the butter with the flour mixture until the mixture forms a coarse crumbly texture
  6. Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the fruit mixture in the baking dish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 to 50 minutes until the crumble topping is golden brown and the fruit underneath is bubbling
  8. Let the crumble cool for a few minutes before serving.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve the warm Strawberry and Apple Crumble with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top to add more flavour. The dish serves 6 to 8 people and is perfect for a cozy dessert on a chilly night. Enjoy!
