Strawberry Chocolate Soufflé Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup chopped strawberries
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 4 egg yolks
- 6 egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease 6 (6-ounce) ramekins and dust with sugar.
- In a medium saucepan, combine chopped strawberries, 1/2 cup sugar, flour, cocoa powder, salt, and milk. Cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, until the mixture thickens, about 8-10 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks. Gradually add the strawberry mixture to the yolks, whisking constantly to combine.
- In a medium mixing bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar until foamy. Add 1/4 cup sugar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form. Add vanilla and mix until combined.
- Stir a third of the egg whites into the strawberry mixture to lighten it. Fold in the remaining egg whites gently, trying not to deflate the mixture.
- Spoon the mixture into the prepared ramekins, filling about 3/4 of the way. Run your thumb around the inside edge of the ramekin to make a slight groove around the soufflé mixture to help it rise evenly.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the soufflés are puffed up and set on the outside but still slightly wobbly in the center.
- Serve immediately with a dollop of whipped cream and extra chopped strawberries if desired.
Verdict:
This decadent dessert is the perfect balance of sweet and fruity. The soufflés are light, airy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, with a subtle chocolatey flavor and a burst of fresh strawberry taste. The recipe may seem daunting, but the result is well worth the effort. Your guests will be impressed with this dessert, making it a great showstopper for any occasion.
Serving suggestions:
Serve the strawberry chocolate soufflés immediately after taking them out of the oven. They are delicate, so handle them with care. Add a sprinkle of powdered sugar or cocoa powder on top for a pretty finishing touch. You can also serve them with a side of ice cream or vanilla sauce. Enjoy!
