Strawberry liqueur

Strawberry Liqueur Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup vodka
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions:

  1. In a large jar or glass bottle, combine the sliced strawberries and vodka. Seal the jar tightly and let it sit for at least 3 days or up to 1 week, shaking it occasionally.
  2. After the strawberries have infused the vodka, combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring until the sugar has fully dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature.
  3. Strain the strawberry-infused vodka into a separate jar or bowl, discarding the strawberries. Add the cooled sugar syrup and lemon juice to the vodka and stir until fully combined.
  4. Transfer the liqueur to a clean bottle or jar with a tight-fitting lid. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.

Verdict:

This homemade strawberry liqueur is a delicious way to enjoy the fresh taste of summer strawberries all year round. The sweet and fruity liqueur can be enjoyed on its own over ice, mixed with sparkling water or champagne, or used as a flavorful addition to cocktails.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Drizzle the liqueur over vanilla ice cream for a sweet and boozy dessert.
  • Combine with lemonade or iced tea for a refreshing summer cocktail.
  • Create a strawberry martini by shaking the liqueur with vodka and a splash of cranberry juice.
